La Reserva Puig de Galatzó Nature & Leisure Park, Puigpunyent

1. La Reserva Puig de Galatzó Nature & Leisure Park

La Reserva Puig de Galatzó is like an adventure park for both adults and kids offering not only a nature reserve but also activities like zip wires, climbing or a Tibetan bridge plus lots of animals.

You can find it on the slopes of Puig de Galatzó, near the village of Puigpunyent. Inside the park, you will be able to refresh in pools with waterfalls, take part in adventure activities, enjoy the longest zip line in Mallorca or just walk around in the evergreen forests.

La Reserva del Galatzo is a wildlife refuge, where wild birds of prey such as eagles, vultures and hawks live. Their wildlife rehabilitation project, hosting animals suffering from physical problems that could not be reintroduced in their habitat, hosts bears, emus, martens, goats, peacocks, donkeys and more.

A 3.5km trail of waymarked paths leads you through Mallorca's mountain scenery in less than two hours, past the waterfalls and springs of Ses Fonts d’es Ratxo, olive trees and charcoal stoves. A series of boards provides background information on wildlife and mountain industries.

There are also plenty of adventure activities on offer including three zip wires, a Tibetan bridge and a climbing wall. A snack bar offers drinks and food and there is also a picnic area with public grills.

The park is open every day from 10:00 to 18:00 from April and October, and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 18:00 from November to March.

2. Dinosaur Land

Discover the fascinating world of dinosaurs, the largest living beings that have ever existed on the planet.

You will walk among more than 100 life-size dinosaurs, including the largest dinosaur in the world, the Titanosaurus.

Join the archeology group in the explorers area and discover all the secrets of the park.

Safari Zoo, Cala Millor

3. Safari Zoo

Safari Zoo is a wildlife park and leisure park on the east coast that is open throughout the year. There are over 600 animals on the park, a restaurant and several playgrounds for children.

You can drive-round the 3km safari park to see giraffes, zebra and monkeys plus a 'baby zoo' with young elephants and reptiles born at the zoo. Or if you are without a car, you can take the 'safari-train' around the park, which leaves at regular intervals during the day.

4. Jungle Parc

Action packed fun in the forest. The Jungle Parc has three courses of varying levels - one for children over 4 years old, and two for adults.

The courses are set over nine hectares of woodland and you use a variety of methods to swing from tree to tree. The adult platforms range from 3m to 10m high and you use a combination of ladders, bridges, ropes, vines and zip wires to complete the course. The Parc provide all the safety gear you will need to make the experience totally safe.

Aqualand Waterpark, S'Arenal

5. Aqualand Waterpark

One of the world's largest water funfairs, with enough thrills and spills to keep you happy all day. In addition to the water slides and wave pool, there is a mini-zoo, as well as a children's farm, parrot shows.

Line 23 EMT bus from Palma will drop you off at Aqualand which is open daily at 10am to 5/6pm from May until September/October.

Tickets are available with adult, child, toddler and senior rates, as well as season passes.

Hidropark Waterpark, Port d'Alcudia

6. Hidropark Waterpark

The only water park on the north of Mallorca Hidropark sits just behind the beach in Port d'Alcudia. Perfect for families and smaller children.

Waterlsides are the main attraction and Hidro park has 2 "Kamikazes", 4 "Foam Slides", 6 "Multislides", 2 "Parrallel Slides" and "The Spiral".

But it's not just water slides. Try the 54 hole Super Golf course, paintballing, bouncy castles, giant floating balls and trampolines while you're there! It's open every day from the 1st May to the 31st October from 10:00 until 17:00 and until 18:00 during July and August.

Palma Aquarium, Palma de Mallorca

7. Palma Aquarium

Palma Aquarium immerses you slowly into the ocean so that you can discover its secrets and the different species that inhabit the deep sea.

With the touch pool, the Aquarium tries to break down barriers between visitors and animals. This exhibit allows the visitor to touch and learn about its inhabitants.

The kids play area in the gardens, is one of the main features. Here the little ones will be able to explore and play on the pirate ship stranded on the rocks.

The aquarium strives to provide visitors a unique experience, and offers many activities such as diving with sharks or rays, shark sleepovers or shark observation from a glass bottom boat.

Katmandu Park, Magaluf

8. Katmandu Park

In the heart of Magaluf, you'll find the House of Katmandu, an interactive theme park like no other. Inside, you'll find games, illusions, robotics, a laser shooting game, two mini golf courses and a 4D cinema ride.

Two other rides are the Asylum ride - a virtual journey through a mental hospital (I kid you not) and the XD Dark Ride where you visit a forbidden mine. A new attraction is The House of Magic - join an adventurous cat named Thunder seeking protection from a furious dog and an approaching storm in a run-down Victorian-style mansion owned by an old magician where he meets Jack the Rabbit and Maggie the Mouse.

There is a Mexican themed restaurant and tequila bar and the park is open from March to November. During the summer months, the house remains open until midnight. Recommended visit time is between 4 & 6 hours.

Fantasia Golf, Palma Nova course

9. Fantasia Golf

Located just behind the beach in the heart of Palma Nova this is the perfect activity for families, groups and friends. Choose from 3 different tropical courses or play all 54 holes and enjoy a refreshment or range of snacks from the bar.

One of the best crazy golf courses in Mallorca it's set amid waterfalls, caves and tropical gardens. It is also the sister crazy golf course of Expedition Golf in the Katmandu Park in Magaluf.

The course is open daily May to September from 10:00 to midnight. In the winter the course is closed.

Western Waterpark, Magaluf

10. Western Waterpark

The Western Water Park is filled with thrilling water slides and pools for everyone's enjoyment. There's a special water park for smaller children and a spectacular diving exhibition featuring professional divers.

The park is open daily from 10:00am to 5/6pm from the middle of May to the end of September. There are free buses from Magaluf or you can use the 104 & 105 public buses from Palma. There is a car park on site, although it can get busy.

Tickets start at €26.50 for adults and €18.50 for children, with family packs available and season passes also available.

Natura Parc, Santa Eugenia

11. Natura Parc

This small zoo in a pretty country village features a range of animals, from traditional Mallorcan farm animals to lemurs, parrots, kangaroo and zebra.

There is also a wide selection of birds and some reptiles including Ostriches and Emus and turtles from Florida. The zoo is shady so good to visit on a hot day. There is also a cafe, picnic area and a shop.

It's open all year round, although times and days may vary. It is best to check on their website or make an enquiry using the link on this page, in advance to avoid disappointment.

Artestruz Ostrich Farm, Campos

12. Artestruz Ostrich Farm

Founded in 1998, this is a small piece of Africa in Mallorca, between Campos and Colonia de Sant Jordi. A perfect place for the whole family to visit and learn more about the largest birds on the planet.

They offer guided tours of the farm (you can feed the birds), visits to baby ostriches, private night tours with cava and fruits, and a 15-minute ride on 'Jumbo', their 16-year-old and 2.20 metres tall male ostrich (only for those under 50kg in weight).

There is a bar serving drinks and snacks, where you can buy fresh ostrich eggs and meat, as well as handcrafted egg shells and ostrich leather goods. They also have an open BBQ where you can cook your own meat and eggs (they offer the ingredients, utensils and tableware).

Open every day from 10:00 to 20:00 (11:00 to 18:00 in the winter - check opening times in advance as they might change). Closed on  Sunday. Tickets cost 12€ for adults and 7€ for children 3 to 12 years old. Free for children under 3 years old.
