Festes de Sant Elm

Sporting events, music and general festivities in the town of Sant Elm

Updated

The lovely little village of Sant Elm, in the far south-west of Mallorca, holds its festival at the beginning of August.

There is a range of activities, from markets to sporting events and entertainment and of course a traditional Mallorcan mock battle.

Sant Elm hosts the reenactment of the battle of the Moors and Christians as part of the Saint Catalina Thomàs festivities. This event, featuring participants in traditional costumes, depicts a fierce battle on Sant Elm beach. Traditionally, the Christians always triumph, symbolically saving the town and Mallorca from historical Moorish invasions.

See the programme on the web link above for more details.
