An unlikely sleepy village on the west coast of Mallorca has been the centre of attention this week for a new TV commercial. The Spanish lager manufacturer, Estrella Damn has chosen Banyalbufar on the west coast of Majorca as the setting for it's latest advert.

Film crews have spent this week shooting the commercial, which features hundreds of the local population all dressed up to celebrate their patron saint, la Mare de Déu de Setembre.

The advert tells the story of some young men who are returning to their home village after being away, at a time when a local fiesta is being held. The ending is a closely guarded secret but you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be a local girl waiting for her childhood sweetheart to return!

The Director General of Tourism, Jaime Martinez was in the town today to thank the drinks company for choosing to film their advert in Majorca. The Ministry of Tourism & Sports recognise that the commercial offers a great platform to promote Mallorca as a holiday destination. The advert is due to air this summer.
