Sky’s BAFTA nominated drama, Mad Dogs, returns to tv screens tonight for a second series. And, once again, the popular four part thriller was shot on location on the island of Mallorca.

Starring Max Beesley, Philip Glenister, John Simm and Marc Warren, the first series centred on a group of old friends and their disastrous trip to Mallorca. Crime and police corruption were dominant themes. And things are set to be just as dark and dangerous -with the familiar touch of black comedy - in the sequel.

In an interview for Sky, Phil Glenister, perhaps best known for playing Gene Hunt in Life on Mars, said he fell in love with Majorca after the first series. And he saw a lot more of the island during filming of the follow up, as it was shot in multiple locations. In fact Glenister brought his family with him second time around and stayed on for a week’s holiday, once filming was finished.

Co-produced by Palma pictures, the success of Mad Dogs was seen as a breakthrough for Mallorca's film industry. Set in various locations it also showcases the island to millions of potential holiday makers.

Mad Dogs is on Sky 1 HD at 9pm (UK time). For further information visit Sky's website
