Queen Sofia of Spain arrived in Palma yesterday in order to spend the Easter holidays in Palma de Mallorca. Queen Sofia will be in Mallorca until Sunday and will attend an Easter mass at Palma cathedral.

This year Queen Sofia will not be joined by King Juan Carlos as he is recovering from a hernia operation which happened last month.

The Queen spent early evening yesterday shopping in the old town centre of Palma along with her sister Princess Irene of Greece and their security guards. The Queen and her sister spent time in cosmetic shops, toy shops, El Corte Ingles, C&A and also took time out to enjoy an ice-cream.

The Queen and other members of the Royal family usually take a family photograph outside the church after the Easter mass, however, it is not yet confirmed who will be joining her this year. She will most certainly not be joined by her daughter Cristina and son in law Iñaki Urdangarín, as he is still in the middle of a court case over alleged embezzlment from the Noos Insititute which was based in Palma.

If you're out and about in Palma this weekend and happen to take any pictures of Queen Sofia or her entourage, please share them with us on Facebook, Twitter or Google+.
