Trip Advisor, the world's largest travel reviews site, is slowly releasing their 2017 Travelers' Choice Awards. The latest list to be published is their Top Landmarks and Mallorca's most famous sight, the Cathedral of Palma, has been chosen among the best ten monuments in Spain.
The wonderful 13th-century building dominates the city of Palma from its seafront with its almost 45 metres of heights. Its imposing exterior silhouette is made up of Gothic pinnacles and flying buttresses, while its ethereal interior atmosphere is created thanks to the 90 large colourful stained glass windows that open onto its walls, including Europe's largest medieval rose window.
Also known as La Seu, the Cathedral of Palma is Mallorca's most important religious building and one of the most popular sights with tourists visiting the island according to Trip Advisor. The monument was chosen as the 10th Top Landmark in Spain in a list topped by the Mezquita de Córdoba, which also included celebrated sights like the Alhambra in Granada, the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona or the Royal Palace in Madrid.
