During the months of July and August, the impressive roof terraces of Palma Cathedral will be open to the public for one-hour tours from Monday to Saturday.

Boasting breathtaking views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea, the roof terraces of the Gothic Cathedral of Mallorca are definitely worth a visit. The tour starts near the Almoina door from where a spiral staircase containing 215 steps departs. The steps are located inside one of the cathedral's bell towers which has nine bells hanging at the top, four of them dating back to the 14th century. The tower accommodated fugitives from the 15th to the 17th centuries, who left graffitis on its walls.

From there, the visit continues to the north terrace decorated with stunning Gothic features, including the largest medieval rose window in Europe. The views over the city and the Serra de Tramuntana here are only surpassed by the views of the sea from the south terrace, which is where the tour ends.

Visits cost 12€ and must be booked online. Maximum 25 people per group. The visit is not open to people with heart problems, vertigo or reduced mobility, as well as children under 11 years old due to the difficulty of the route.
