The Iberdola Open has been cancelled. The golf tournament that was scheduled for May 10th - 13th this year has been pulled after organisers failed to find a sponsor. Keith Waters, the chief operating officer with the European Tour, said the competiton could not survive without backing.

The Pula Club will now play host to the Inaugural Mallorca Open Senior which will run from May 11th - 13th.

This year’s event was set to mark the one year anniversary of the death of Seve Ballesteros with his son, Javier, playing as an amateur. The Open was also the site for Darren Clarke’s first win in three years and began his come-back which culminated with his win at the British Open at Royal St. Georges.

Although the pros will not be on the fairways in Son Servera the course is still open, as are the nineteen other courses on the island. Golf is one of the most popular activities on Majorca. To find out more visit our page on Golf Courses in Mallorca.
