Mallorca's first themed hotel is to open in the spot where the old Gran Santa Ponsa hotel once was. The Pirate Village will open in April with an inauguration party on the 12th, before guests start arriving the following day.

The hotel will be hard to miss on the main strip of Santa Ponsa, with it's unusual facade (see pic). It's opening earlier than planned, and bookings (which are being taken on an 8 month long season instead of the normal 6) are already looking very healthy for the hotel.

Staff will be donning their peg legs and hooks to keep with the pirate theme, but will only do so two days a week, and during the shows and theme nights which will be open for non residents to enjoy as well.

The hotel owners have put great detail and thought into children's activities and entertainment with a bouncy castle, 5 a side football pitch, a giant hand-shaped climbing frame as well as a stage for mini theatre productions to name a few.

Santa Ponsa has been a popular holiday destination with Brits for the past 40 years, so this will be a fun new addition to the type of accommodation and activities on offer.
