At 8.30 pm on Monday the Casino de Mallorca will open its doors in its new location in the Porto Pi shopping complex, Palma de Mallorca. Investment in the new facility, originally due to open back in February, totalled an estimated €8.5 million.

The casino first opened back in 1978 in the Hotel Golf, Santa Ponsa, quickly moving to its current location in Calvia in early 1979. The director of the casino, Javier Blasco, justified the move saying the central location near the capital would help them attract more visitors and tourists.

The new 3,000 square metre complex includes a gambling hall with over 70 slot machines, plus roulette, blackjack and poker tables. It also houses two bars, a restaurant and a nightclub. Opening hours will be from 4 pm to 5 am.
