The Serra de Tramuntana's highest peaks were turned white with snow over Sunday night and Monday morning. The snow limit dropped to 1,100 metres while the Puig Major, Mallorca's highest summit, stands at 1,445.

When we think of Mallorca, we picture sunny beaches and warm, crystalline Mediterranean waters. However, the island has a wide variety of landscapes, including flat farmlands and high mountains, the famous Serra de Tramuntana. It's here that the first snowfall of autumn 2018 fell last night.

Temperatures suddenly dropped this weekend and the rain that fell on most of Mallorca turned into snow at high altitude. There are more precipitations on the forecast this afternoon and scattered rain throughout the first half of this week.
