On 18th October 2015 Palma de Mallorca will host this marathon which has had its distance accredited by the Spanish Athletics Federation, with the well known Cathedral, Palma bay and promenade at the heart of an incredible urban course.

Registration is now open for the brand new international marathon that replaces the TUI Marathon and takes place on 18th October 2015. The newly launched Palma de Mallorca Marathon brings many improvements such as a certified length of the road race established by the RFEA (Spanish Athletics Federation), a new course, and the strong support of the local authorities in order to internationalise the event.

Not only a marathon, this will be a full weekend of running, tourism and leisure for beginners and experienced athletes, and their families. This event is set to become a classic race in the world of long distance running, due to the course layout, the wonderful appeal of the Balearic Islands and in particular the City of Palma, and because Mallorca is now one of Europe's favourite places for training and athlete holidays.

Mallorca offers countless attractive cultural, gastronomical and leisure activities and also hosts other important sporting events such as the Vuelta a Mallorca, international cycling competitions, Ironman and Ironman 70.3 triathlons.

A record number of athletes took part in 2014, with more than 11.000 participants. The addition of a 10k to the series last year proved popular and will once again join the full marathon and half marathon, along with a “Kids Run” race in 2015. The new course runs through the centre of Palma, crossing the port, the surroundings of the Parque del Mar, Paseo Maritimo (Palma Bay promenade), and main monuments of the city, Gabriel Roca avenue and finishing at the foot of the well-known Cathedral.

Athletes can now apply on the official website www.palmademallorcamarathon.com for the registration.
