Ryanair are strengthening their presence on the island of Mallorca with new connections to Palma from Rome, Frankfurt, Newcastle and Wroclaw. They are planning on transporting around four million passengers next year, a 10% more than in 2016.

The low-cost airline will operate 47 routes from Son Sant Joan, Spain's third busiest airport, with 348 weekly flights to and from Palma. There will be a daily flight to Frankfurt and Newcastle, as well as four per week to Rome Ciampino and two to Wroclaw. Another 13 destinations will be served from Palma, including increased frequencies to Málaga, Manchester, Seville or Stockholm.

Thanks to Ryanair's expansion, Palma will retain their budget offering after Air Berlin's decision to close their hub in the Mallorcan airport and to stop flying to Son Sant Joan in summer 2017.
