There is nothing to worry about when swimming in Mallorca's cristaline Mediterranean waters. The local government has just released a report based on extensive tests performed on 115 different points around the island's coast and they have all come back with very positive results.

Almost all of those sampling points, 97 out of 115, were revealed as excellent, including big tourist beaches like Port d'Alcudia, Palmanova, Playa de Muro, Playa de Palma and Port de Sóller. 12 of the 115 samples were rated as good, while 4 have been deemed sufficient and only 2 were found insufficient, those being in Cala Egos (Santanyí) and Camp de Mar (Andratx).

Analysis have focused on the existence of microorganisms, as well as the presence of jellyfish and residues, the transparency of the water and much more. Samples were gathered during the bathing season, from May to October.
