World's first automobile at Mallorca Classic Week 2018
Beautiful classic cars, motorcycles & yachts in Port Adriano
The Mallorca Classic Week, taking place in Port Adriano from September 19th to 23rd, will bring some of the most unique vintage cars, motorbikes and yachts in the world to Mallorca.
None other than the first automobile in history will be present at Port Adriano on Saturday 22nd, leading the parade at the "International Concours d'Elegance" in which participants will also dress in early 20th century garments. Built by Carl Benz in 1885, this one-cylinder, two-stroke unit was famously tested by the inventor's wife, Bertha Benz, in 1888. The patent, dated in January 1886, is considered as the birth certificate of the automobile.
The elegance contest will start at 17:00 and will feature other beauties like the Mercedes AMG GT3 racecar, the most modern vehicle on show, as well as the BMW 3200 Michelotti Vignale first presented in Turin in 1959, a 1929 Bentley Blower Supercharged and a 1950 Mercedes Benz S. The jury's decision, presided by Prince Leopold of Bavaria, won't be an easy one.
The day will start at 13:00 with the Classic Festival inspired by American car shows and featuring food trucks serving American food, an Elvis Presley show, a pin-up competition and live music.
