Mestis Restaurant

Vibrant BajaMed fusion in the heart of Santa Catalina

Tucked away in the lively neighbourhood of Santa Catalina, Mestis is a small, characterful restaurant where Mediterranean flavours meet global influences. Created by the team behind O96 in Pollensa Bay, Mestis is all about encounters – between cultures, ingredients and ideas – expressed through a colourful, relaxed style of dining.

The cuisine is described as BajaMed: inspired by Baja California and Mexico, but made using Mediterranean and local Mallorcan produce. The result is vibrant, flavour-led food that feels both familiar and fresh. Popular dishes include arroz a la llauna cooked in a skillet, comforting “grandma’s croquettes”, and a crispy surfer-style tuna taco with chipotle sauce. Every plate reflects a balance of tradition and creativity, rooted firmly in seasonal ingredients.

The space mirrors the food. Light, plant-filled interiors bring an outdoor, garden-like feel inside, creating a warm and informal atmosphere. The restaurant is street-facing, with an additional terrace at the back, making it ideal for both casual lunches and relaxed evening meals.

Located just steps from Santa Catalina Market and close to the Paseo Marítimo, Mestis is open for lunch, dinner or cocktails. It is also well suited to group dining, with flexible options that make it a popular choice for shared meals in one of Palma’s most dynamic districts.
