The ‘jardin’ outside feel is certainly brought inside here at Mestis, with a light, plant orientated interior design throughout. This is a small, street-facing restaurant with a terrace area at the back.
The cuisine is labelled ‘BajaMed’, which means from Baja California and made with Mediterranean ingredients. Located just by the Santa Catalina market, the colourful style matches the vibrant flavours from Baja California and the Mediterranean.
Popular dishes include a skillet-based rice dish, “arroz a la llauna", “grandma’s croquettes”, “crispy surfer-style tuna taco with chipotle sauce”. All dishes inspired by Baja, Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine are made with local products.
The restaurant is also close to the Paseo and is open for lunch, dinner or cocktails. It is also increasingly popular with groups and offers a variety of packages.
