Cala Nova's 40th anniversary

Port Calanova celebrates 40 years with free watersports

Port Calanova celebrated its 40th anniversary this weekend by treating the public to a wide range of water sports and a giant paella.

Everyone was welcome to sign up for the event. From 10.30 to 18.00 the prestigious sailing school adopted the atmosphere of a family fair. There were bouncy castles with water shoots, a DJ and a massive paella sizzling away. It was an opportunity for Port Calanova to show off its facilities and new equipment. The public were able to try out sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and paddle surfing. Flyboarding was also on offer at a discounted price.

For those entertaining the idea of owning a boat, this was an opportunity to test out brand new Swedish motorboats Agapi 750 and Agapi 950. Powerful and lightweight, these are the first models available to the mass market which have integrated carbon fibre. A speedy and exhilarating ride from Calanova to Portals Vells prompted eager passengers to enquire about prices. The boats are currently available for hire from the centre from €550 per day.

The watersports and sailing school runs courses for children (6+) and adults, and also organises summer camps. For those wanting to make the most of the sea this summer, it's well worth checking out their listing and finding out what's on offer.
