468th Fira Celebrated in Llucmajor

Giants take to the streets in celebration of the harvest

Llucmajor's annual harvest festival, this year celebrated its 468th Edition! A weekend long fiesta with arts & crafts market, horse show, live music and parties.

A major part of the celebrations includes the traditional parade of giants, which drew a great crowd of tourists and locals all wanting to participate in the traditional spectacle. Yesterdays entertainment also included a dog show and agility demonstration, an exhibition of Mallorcan livestock with goats and sheep, an a display of agricultural machinery used throughout the ages in farming on Mallorca.All of this took place in the streets of the town and there is still much more to see today.

The cultural aspect of the harvest celebrations include art exhibitions of both new and already established artists, dancing in the Placa d'Espanya and 'a cappella' singing. The Llucmajor event will culminate this evening with a children's theatre production at 18:00 in the town.
