Baggage Strikes Planned for August at Mallorcas Son Sant Joan Airport

1 million passengers are expected to be affected

An announcement was made this week that strike action has been called for by baggage handlers at Palma International Airport.

They are apparently unhappy that agreements made in April relating to wages, working hours and lack of staff have not been met, and are therefore suggesting strike action on 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10 , 15, 16 and 17th of August.

The strikes are set to cause flight delays and potentially affect up to 1 million passengers.

A meeting has been called to try to resolve the situation. We'll keep you updated as we hear more news.
