A British man fell from his seventh floor balcony whilst on holiday in the Mallorca beach resort of Magaluf.

Sean Kelly had been on the island for a few hours and had been out drinking with friends in the resort of Magaluf. On returning to his apartment Mr Kelly, 24, and his friends had discovered they were locked out. Mr Kelly fell 20m from his seventh floor balcony whilst trying to climb to the adjoining balcony to open the apartment. His fall was broken by a aluminium awning that doctors think saved his life. He is said to be in a “serious but stable” condition in Palma's Son Espases hospital.

Last year there were four Brits killed in Magaluf from balcony falls and the British Foreign Office have published the “Booze and Balconies Don't Mix” brochure to highlight the potential dangers balconies can pose.
