A 19 year old from Liverpool had a lucky escape whilst on holiday in Magaluf after he fell some 25 metres from a seventh floor balcony. A sunbed is thought to have saved the teenager after breaking his fall.

Jake Evans was having a drink at the Torrenova Playa hotel on Monday morning after a night out with friends. He leant over the balcony to catch a lighter that his friend had thrown to him from two balconies below. As he leant forward he lost his balance and fell, bouncing off the staggered balconies on his way down.

Jake is now in Palma's Son Espases hospital recovering from his ordeal. He has multiple injuries including a broken arm and ankle, extensive bruising and cuts to the face and is said to be in a ‘serious condition'. Police sources say he is extremely lucky to be alive.
