Calvia to freeze property tax for next four years

featured in News & reviews Author Nicola Henderson, Site Editor Updated

Calvia Town Hall has unanimously approved a vote to freeze the Real Estate Tax (IBI) over the next four years. The proposal was part of the recently elected Partido Popular council's manifesto and formed part of their plan to support residents and businesses in the area through this time of financial uncertainty.

The council's legal team have been working since the election in May to produce a fair and feasible system to implement this tax freeze. Residents will be able to apply for a rebate via their tax bill.

Calvia is Mallorca's wealthiest municipality. Ease of access to Palma along with wonderful beaches & coastline has made it a magnet for foreigners looking for a second home.

Further information about the property tax can be found on the Calvia Town Hall website.
