The increasingly popular Palma Airport is going to see more flights from the UK as Spanish airline Vueling announced yesterday that they would be opening up services from Cardiff to Majorca. This announcement follows the news that Monarch airlines will be picking up the routes previously run by the failing BMI Baby to Mallorca this September as well as the news that Ryanair have opened a hub at Majorca airport.

All these announcements mean that there are now more ways than ever to get to Mallorca from the UK and now that Vueling, who also have a hub in Palma Airport, have opened up these new routes the south west of England and Wales now have better access to the island.

Mallorca airport is the third largest in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona with more than 20 million passengers a year coming through and as the island becomes more and more popular and more airlines open up routes to Palma we can probably expect to see that number rise.

The new flight schedule will begin on 24th June with flights from Cardiff Airport every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. With flights on Vueling's website starting from around £32 it makes it the it the ideal choice for weekend breaks from the Bristol and Cardiff area.
