The number of Police on patrol has been increased in the Punta Ballena district in Mallorca's resort of Magaluf.
The Mayor of Calvia, Manuel Onieva explained that there would be an increase in the popular areas of Magaluf where thousands of tourists gather each night to party. The single police patrol car will now be increased to four cars between midnight and 5am. This will mean a total of eight police officers monitoring the Punta Ballena and ensuring the safety and security of those on holiday and keeping vehicles off the street at night.
A committee will convene in October to assess the success of the extra patrols.
