**UPDATED - 17:39** Ivan Ramis is still coming to England but now it seems he'll be playing for Wigan, not West Ham. The Mallorca defender was all set to come to Upton Park but was apparently snubbed in favour of Aston Villa centre back James Collins. Ramis was then scooped up by Wigan for 4m.

10:00 - Mallorca defender Ivan Ramis will make the move to West Ham to play for the Hammers. The 27 year old Mallorca born footballer had expressed an interest in playing in the English Premiership and after speculation about which club he would move to confirmation came this week from RCD Mallorca.

In a statement on their official site the Mallorca football team said: "Mallorca and West Ham have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ivan Ramis. The Mallorcan defender has the permission of the club to have a medical with what will be his new team."

Ramis has played for Mallorca for the last eight seasons having come up through the youth ranks of the club and has enjoyed places on the Spanish under 19, under 21 and under 23 sides.

The Mallorca defender will join seven other new signings for Sam Allardyce's Hammers when West Ham make a return to the Premiership in just over two weeks.
