The number of over night visitors to Mallorca hotels was up this year for the month of March.

Hotels in Mallorca and flights to Palma were up this March on last years figures. There was an 8.2% increase in visitors to hotels in the Balearics and flights to the islands saw a 10.7% increase bringing the total number of tourists flying into the islands to 266 939.

Mallorca ranked as one of the highest areas with overnight stays with Palma proving to be the most popular and Calvia also proving a popular choice for Easter sun. The occupancy rate in Calvia was at 50% creating work for some 2194 people.

With March in the UK ranking as the second coldest since records began with an average temperature of just 2.2 degrees Celsius it is no wonder Brits, who made up over 20% of the visitors to Mallorca travelled to the island, where temperatures hit 20 degrees for some March sun.

The booking numbers for May have already been well above average for the year and if this trend continues you might need to make your summer holiday plans now to guarantee a summer holiday in Mallorca. Visit our Mallorca Hotels, Villas and Apartments page to find your perfect holiday accommodation.
