Mallorca on Yellow Alert as Storm Forecast
80mph winds predicted to hit Mallorca this weekend.
The weather forecasters in Mallorca are predicting a storm will hit the island today with winds as strong as 80mph expected.
The island has been experiencing it's first taste of winter after the long and glorious summer with the freezing level dropping to 800m bringing snow on the higher ground in the Tramuntana. There are also localised heavy hail storms expected and temperatures will drop to the low teens.
The storm will bring big waves to the west coast of the island but the east should remain sheltered and by Monday the storm is expected to have passed.
