A Mallorcan mental health charity, Amadip.esment has launched an initiative to celebrate its 50th anniversary called the EnsaimadArt project, calling for designers to create fresh new designs for the iconic octagonal box that contain the famous sweet pastry, the ensaimada.

EnsaimadArt has asked well known, international artists, architects, illustrators & chefs to produce a new label for the box that the ensaimada is sold in. The artworks produced will be on show in a opening ceremony in Palma in October before touring in a travelling exhibition.

All profits from the sales of the boxes and the exhibitions will go to the Amadip.esment foundation which helps to create employment for disabled people.

The ensaimada is a traditional Mallorcan spiral shaped pastry that is popular with tourists and locals alike.
