Mallorca's hotel occupancy the best since 2007

Better than expected tourist numbers help to boost profitability

Mallorca's hotels are enjoying the best occupancy rates this summer since 2007. Visitor numbers are greater than were expected at the beginning of the summer, with most resort hotels experiencing 85-95% occupancy in June, July & August. This has helped the summer of 2012 to be the most profitable since 2007, as most rooms have been sold without discounts thanks to the high demand.

The most popular resorts have been those on Playa de Palma (S'Arenal & Can Pastilla) & Santa Ponsa in the south, Alcudia, Playa de Muro & Can Picafort in the north, and Capdepera & Cala Millor in the east. All are expected to achieve 95% occupancy during August.

With record numbers passing through Mallorca's airport in June, July & August, this flow of visitors is expected to continue into September. Forecasts suggest that the average Mallorca hotel occupany in September will be 85%. Whilst quieter than the peak months of July & August, September is a popular time to visit Mallorca thanks to the continuing warm weather and events & activities on offer. It also tends to be the most profitable as visitors at this time of year tend to spend more.

Just because September looks like being a successful one for businesses, it doesn't mean there are no late deals to be had if you are still looking for a holiday to Mallorca. Our Accommodation Offers page still has plenty of discounts on offer on a range of villas & hotels.
