Figures released by the Institute of National Statistics (INE) this week confirmed that the number of overnight stays in the Balearics during October was up 10.5%, compared to 2010. This meant the overall number of overnight stays was a grand total of 4.7 million nights across the islands.

This double digit growth is good news for the industry, and continues the positive trend witnessed during the peak months. The length of stay was almost identical to last year (6.52 days versus 6.51 days in 2010). Total occupancy levels were reported to be 57%.
