ETA not finished says victim's Father at ceremony in Majorca

On the anniversary of the ETA bombing that killed two of the Mallorca Civil Guard three years ago the Father of one of the victims said that "ETA is not finished." The ceremony, which took place today, remembers the killing of Diego Salva and Carlos Saenz, who died in the bombing of their barracks in Palmanova in 2009, as well as the other victims of terror attacks in Majorca and elsewhere in the world.

Diego Salva's Father Antonio told journalists that he thought that recent arrests of ETA members was encouraging but he felt that ETA's goal to achieve Basque independence was closer than ever and told the press that "ETA is stronger than ever" saying said that the legal system had left him feeling "helpless and powerless".

The bombing in 2009 brought travel to and from the island to a halt as authorities tried to prevent the perpetrators from fleeing and was followed 10 days later by bombs in the capital Palma. Since then there have been no attacks on the Island but today's ceremony shows that the events have not been forgotten.
