Sunshine and showers forecast for Easter

Easter flights to Mallorca are up substantially versus last year as many take advantage of the run of bank holidays for an extended break. In fact, according to ABTA, two million Britons were due to head abroad between Thursday 21st April and Tuesday 26th, with Spain being the most popular destination.

Much of the UK has benefited from sunshine and warm weather this week. And, despite the UK's reputation for wet bank holidays, this looks set to continue into the Easter weekend with forecasts predicting sunshine for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile in Mallorca, after a run of several weeks of sunshine, there are some showers forecast from now until Sunday, followed by sunshine and higher temperatures for Monday and Tuesday.

Mainland Spain has been hit by wet weather with Easter parades in both Seville and Madrid cancelled yesterday due to rain. The big parade in Palma de Majorca on Maundy Thursday went ahead as planned.
