Three injured in Soller Tram Derailment
Soller Tram comes off the tracks after collision with van
The Soller Tram was derailed yesterday when it collided with a van at an intersection in the road.
The Tram was hit by a driver who was leaving his house at around 8.30 in the l'Horta area between the town of Soller and the Port. Three people, the driver and two passangers, wer thrown to the ground and although taken to hospital for treatment suffered nothing more than bruises.
The Tram was derailed and had to be pushed back onto the track with a digger and was then taken out of sevice for repairs.
The is the second time the driver of the van has crashed into the tram. A similar accident occured in Janurary 2002 when he collided with the tram and caused it to derail.
