A warm air mass originating from South East Africa has brought muddy rains and high temperatures to the Balearic Islands over night.

Experts from the Meteorological Agency (AEMET) said that the invasion of dust reaches all the way to Northern Europe, and is typical of this time of year, but since it has affected lower lying areas, there has been a lot of dust falling as muddy rain.

This air mass seems to have moved on now but it did bring high air temperatures, exceeding 20 degrees in some parts of Mallorca. Sa Pobla saw temperatures of 20.4 degrees and Palma airport 20.1 degrees.

Today the island should see maximum temperatures reaching around 16 degrees. Take a look at the next 5 day forecast here.
