There is now a fourth beach on the island that has allowed our furry friends to join us for a refreshing dip in the sea. The latest beach to have been designated as dog friendly is Cala Blanca in Andratx. The three other beaches where you can bring your canine friends during high season are Es Carnatge in Palma, Llenaire in Puerto Pollensa and Na Patana in Santa Margalida.

Usually dogs are allowed on beaches only in the out of season, from the 1st of November to the 31st of March, but at these four locations you and your pooch are more than welcome to come and jump in the sea to cool off on a hot summer’s day. Usual rules apply concerning dog waste, it is the owner’s responsibility to clean it up and make sure the area remains a pleasure for all to use.

At Es Carnatge there is now also a beach bar, catering for customers of all shapes, sizes and species, the Handle Bar opened a little earlier this summer. A little, sustainable, solar powered, made out of reclaimed wood, beach bar that is open from 08:00 until midnight, offering cold refreshments and light snacks, and there are always water bowls out for the doggies.
