Each autumn, the handsome market town of Santanyà throws open its doors for Sa Fira, a traditional fair celebrating the best of local art, culture and gastronomy.
The streets fill with stalls showcasing local produce, crafts and artisan goods, while farm animals make an appearance for the younger visitors. Live music and performances run throughout the day, and the whole thing ends on a spectacular note with a Correfoc fire run through the town centre.
Santanyà is one of Mallorca's most beautiful towns, built almost entirely in honey-coloured marès sandstone, and Sa Fira is one of the best occasions to see it at its liveliest. Check the website for the full programme and timings.
