A Few Changes for Mallorca's Airport

New routes announced as Terminal A begins its winter hibernation

The International Terminal A at Mallorca Son Sant Joan airport reports a huge decrease in traffic over the winter months and so this weekend the terminal was closed down until the next summer season beings.

All the traffic that would normally come through has now been moved to Terminal D for the winter as the 'hibernation' period begins. This time of closure not only means that repairs and renovations can take place but also offers a chance for energy saving and much needed economical savings.

This weekend also saw the announcement, by low-cost airline Easyjet, of a new route from the south east of France to Mallorca for next summer. The service, which begins in July 2015 will have 2 flights a week (Monday and Friday) flying from the city of Toulouse to Mallorca. The new route will only operate for the busy summer months for the moment.
