Art meets music in Portixol

Live music & art show at brand new Beach Side Cocktail & Grill

featured in News & reviews Author Emily Benet, Mallorca Reporter Updated

Beach Side cocktail bar and grill has just opened beside the attractive seaside promenade of Portixol. It is housed in a former windmill and is set back slightly from the main avenue, separated by a small area of grass and palm trees. The result is a relaxed and spacious terrace perfect for people watching.

This Friday 22nd July there will be a special event combining live painting and music from 18.30. The show will begin with a short interview with resident Artist and gallery curator, Nando Bruncke, who recently displayed his signature collages and colourful paintings at Ses Voltes. He will set to work with acrylic, cord and paper on canvas. Visitors will be able to observe his technique while enjoying a cocktail outside. Accompanying him with live music will be Hugo d'Ambrosio on the guitar and Paul Marc on the cajon drum. At the end of the evening Bruncke's creation will be auctioned. The event will finish around 22.00.

Beach Side is planning to put on different events each week. With or without the additional entertainment, it already has a great vibe being so close to the sea. The restaurant and bar is tastefully decorated and takes advantage of the old flagstone floor and sandstone facade.

It's a great spot for a sundowner or an evening meal during the warm summer days. With glittering candle-light, comfortable sofas, an intimate corner of high tables as well as dining tables, it caters for every mood.

Cocktails start at €5.95, a glass of wine €3.50. The restaurant specialises in paellas, from €12, and steak, from €14. There are also pastas, burritos and vegetarian options. The kitchen opens from 17.30 every day except Wednesdays, when the restaurant is closed.

If you enjoy art and music, or just fancy a different setting for your evening cocktail then make sure you come along this Friday evening.
