In a country renowned for its architecture, vibrant culture and works of art it comes as no surprise that some of the most visited places in Spain are stunning buildings.

And right in there at number seven is the Palma Cathedral.

"It's particularly worth noting its spectacular and colourful rose window and the chapel designed by Miquel Barceló."

The cathedral is not far behind heavy weights such as the Alhambra in Granada, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and the Alcazar fortress in Segovia. So if there was ever any doubt about why you would go to Palma on holiday...well, lets just say that you'd be silly not to!

Some of the most popular are the Mallorca 312 cycling race in April, the Copa del Rey sailing regatta in July and the Moors vs Christians mock battle in September.
