Serena Rees, wife of The Clash's bassist Paul Simonon, celebrated her 50th birthday at their private villa between Deia and Sóller last week. The guest list couldn't have been more impressive!

The highlight of the night, which has been well documented on social media, was a live concert lead by Simonon himself which featured some of the most famous musicians in the British pop and rock scene. These included Blur's frontman Damon Albarn who shares the project 'The Good, The Bad and The Queen' with the ex-bassist from The Clash, Primal Scream's lead singer Bobby Gillespie, and Bob Geldof. Simonon even played a rendition of The Clash's iconic song 'Guns of Brixton'.

Legendary local rock band 'Pa amb Oli' were also part of the lineup. Founded by Robert Graves' son, Juan, who sadly passed away in 2015, the Deia musicians have played with many of the VIP tourists that have graced the village including Mike Oldfield and Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

Many other celebrities attended the party. Deia regulars Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof, together with their friend Nick Grimshaw who usually celebrates his birthday on the island, were seen dancing to the rock tunes. Others spotted out in the audience were supermodel Kate Moss, designer Matthew Williamson, French model Josephine de la Baume, actress Sadie Frost, and stylist Katy England. Actress Liv Tyler was also there with her husband David Gardner, and they spent a day out in Sóller after the party, even jumping on the vintage Port de Sóller tram, one of the island's most popular tourist attractions.
