The world's largest travel website, Trip Advisor, have revealed their 2017 Travellers' Choice Awards for Best Beaches. Unsurprisingly, two of Mallorca's beaches have reached the top 10 in Spain: Playa de Muro at number 3 and Playa de Alcúdia at number 9.

Chosen by millions of visitors from around the world, these awards are determined by the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for beaches on Trip Advisor over the last 12 months. Playa de Muro, which also reached number 10 in Europe's best beaches, stands out as a "Beautiful soft sandy beach with clear blue water", while Playa de Alcúdia is a "superb beach".

The neighbouring island of Formentera boasts Spain's second-best beach according to Trip Advisor reviewers, Ses Illetes, while Ibiza's Cala Comte is number 7. Five Spanish beaches have been chosen among Europe's top 15, with La Concha in San Sebastián selected as the very best in the continent and the 6th in the world.
