This ancient chapel (the Oratory of Castello) dates back to the 17th century and was dedicated to the adoration of Our Lady of the Rosary. The last restoration was undertaken back in 1910, however since then the little church has fallen into decline.

Work is due to begin later this year and is expected to take around 11 months to complete. The work will initially focus on securing the building to allow access, and will include reconstruction of the collapsed roof, rebuilding stone walls, and construction of pedestrian access to the area. In order to save the exterior walls they will need to arrange drainage of the walls below ground level and consolidate the existing walls.

Other measures will include the reconstruction of a collapsed corner of the main and side facade along with strengthening the foundations, strengthening arches with a rib reinforced concrete, repairing and rebuilding around the sunken dome cover, rebuilding the chapel and sacristy. The project will be completed with new woodwork in the interior.

The small oratory is of great historical value and the agreement with the Council of Mallorca for restoration of the building was signed in 2007, sadly since then the condition of the building has greatly deteriorated. In December 2013, the Council decided to update the project and budget, which has resulted in the work being planned before the year end.
