Mallorca has been a popular road biking destination for many years now and due to the mild climates and good winter conditions it is now an 'all year round' destination for many sports men and women.
Team Sky will soon be heading over with their Head of performance operations, Rod Ellingworth, to begin their winter training and start the run up to the 2015 season. But it's not only the good roads, great climate and abundance of hills that attracts Team Sky to the Island of Mallorca... When asked what snacks or energy foods he takes with him on a cycle or training run, this was Rod's response; "Nothing fancy, I’m a social cyclist and from a club run point of view there is nothing better than stopping at a café and having a sausage sandwich and cup of tea. For me that is everything about cycling. In Majorca in December we always have a café stop every day. It helps integrate the group."
