Tragic Accident in the Torrent de Pareis in Mallorca
German tourist sadly found dead on Saturday morning
Officials were alerted to the missing 59 year old by his family after they separated on a hike on Friday in the popular canyon at Torrent de Pareis in the north west of Mallorca.
Hiking with his wife and son, the German decided to hike at a faster pace and to meet his family later at a restaurant in Escorca. When he did not appear, his wife and son reported him missing at around 17:50. Sadly, his body was discovered on Saturday morning by rescue workers.
Although a popular hike in the area, it is known to be fairly difficult and there have been several rescues already this year. Unfortunately this one had a tragic ending.
