Pirates Charity Premiere & After Party, Magaluf

featured in Nightlife reviews Author Chris Richard, Editor Updated

A packed theatre saw the Pirates Charity Gala Event last night raise over €50,000 for the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. In it’s seventh year, the event is supported by British celebrities, local residents and visitors to the island. The evening started with a chance to view the prizes that would be won in the charity auction.

Holidays to Barbados and Las Vegas, a week-end trip to London with a day of pampering at Nicky Clarke’s salon, a signed ‘EastEnders’ plaque and a signed boxing glove belonging to World Champion David Hayes were amongst the prizes on offer. After singer Daniel Darcy had entertained the crowd, the Pirates show commenced with its unique combination of theatre, stunts and humor.

With the arrival of the interval, it was the celebrities turn to grace the stage and encourage the audience to bid in the auction. Steve McFadden, Claire Sweeney, Nicky Clarke, Cheryl Fergison & Alex Best were amongst the stars on display, and their efforts did not go to waste!

The second half of the show was even more spectacular than the first, with incredible feats of strength and some fabulous group acrobatics. This season’s Pirates Adventure Show is a corker and even if you have seen it before it really is worth coming back for a second (or a third!) look. There are some very talented performers with the company this year - watch out for the Statue Act, you won't believe your eyes! As the show came to an end, it was time to head to the Casino and the after-show party. With a DJ spinning the tunes, and a free bar sponsored by Thomas Cook, the frivolities continued well into the early hours.
