The Sunday Evening BBQ at Zhero

Chill out with some fresh food and fresh beats in Mallorca

After a fairly hedonistic weekend of parties, late nights and frivolities it's good to finish a Sunday with something calming, relaxing and healthy. In the Palma area one of the best ways to end the week is at the Zhero Hotel Barbeque.

Every Sunday from 7.30pm the ultra sleek and sexy Zhero Hotel holds their all you can eat barbeque. Linen table cloths, cocktails and freshly prepared food in the urban oasis that is the Zhero poolside make for a healthy and relaxing end to the week.

The edge of the pool can seat about forty or fifty people and the fresh beats and delicious food are proving popular so if you are not a guest at the hotel then it's best to call in advance and make a reservation.

When we visited a couple of weeks ago we arrived quite late and were worried that there might not be enough food left, but we needn't have been concerned. The spread which included fresh prawns, steak, chorizo, pork and corn on the cob as well as a mixture of salads and roasted vegetables seemed to be never ending. Every time one plate looked like it was running low a waitress would arrive from the kitchen bearing another bowl or platter stocked with more food, all of which can be cooked to suit your taste.

There is no dress code for the barbeque but the hotel itself is cool and attracts a similar clientèle so you will want to make sure you're looking quite smart-casual. Call Christian for bookings and either get a taxi from Palma for about €15 or you can take the number 3 bus. Once there, try a cocktail and enjoy the chilled atmosphere and some very tasty barbeque.
