S'Esglesia Nova
Open air roofless Neo-Gothic church
This unfinished church is located near to Son Servera. Construction of the church began in 1905, with Joan Rubió, a student of Antoni Gaudí, as the architect.
The church was built in the Neo-Gothic style, but due to financial problems it remained unfinished and construction was halted in the 1930s. The exterior walls, including the windows and rose windows, were largely completed, however, the roof in particular, was never actually finished.
The church is used for open-air cultural events and weddings. The fact that this 20th-century church remains unfinished makes it somewhat more beautiful and certainly makes for a memorable setting for a wedding ceremony. Just imagine those wedding pictures! It’s located near Son Servera, so there are various fincas and hotels in the vicinity where you and your guests can continue the celebrations.
