Large wine grower with a good selection of wines
This winery was founded in 1931 and has 92 acres of land planted with native vines. The varieties include black Manto Negro, Callet, Moll, Macabeo & Parellada, some of which are blended with better-known varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. They offer tours of the winery including detailed explanations about the history of the winery and the wine making processes, as well as a tasting of wines and typical products of the Balearic Islands. Longer tours also available for groups.
One of the most established vineyards on the island, José L. Ferrer, was founded by a 28-year-old José Luis Ferrer Ramonell. Located at the entrance to the town of Binissalem, the bodega remains a family-run business, passed down through several generations. Adapting to and implementing more recent and widespread winemaking methods from around the world has led to their current success and production of some of Mallorca's top wines. A visit to the museum will give you an insight to the vineyard’s history and evolution of their wine, with 60 minute wine tasting and tour packages including delicious Mahones cheese.
