Pollenca is located in the north-west of Mallorca. Castle del Rei is on a large private estate and you have to apply for permission at the Town Hall in Pollenca to get access.

Please note that this permission can take up to four days to be granted. You can now also arrange permission online via Pollenca Town Hall - follow this link for instructions on how to book your place. Directions

Leaving Pollença on the road leading to Lluc, just before the Roman Bridge, you turn right at the road crossing"Can Xura" the spring of Algaret and Ternelles. The road connects with the path leading to the "Castell del Rei" across valley and woods. From the fortress, which in Moorish times was one of the most important of the islands's fortifications and which stands above impressively high cliffs, you get a view of the entire northen coastline from Soller to Formentor.
