You know what it's like when you go to the beach, one of you goes for a swim while the other stays behind keeping an eye on your camera, phone and other posessions.. well the main beaches in Calvia could have the answer to that dilemma this summer.

Santa Ponsa, Peguera, Magaluf, Son Maties and Carregador beaches are set to have new hi-tech beach-side lockers installed, where you'll be able to connect to WiFi and re-charge your mobile phones, as well as stashing your belongings.

Lockers will have security code access instead of keys and will cost around 3 euros per day to use, which you'll be able to pay for by cash or card.

These types of lockers are already in use in cities like Vienna where they've proved really popular. Calvia will be the first Spanish municipality to try them out.
